Pregnancy/Breastfeeding Advice
Avoid whilst pregnant. Avoid breastfeeding for 3-5 hours after taking as this product may increase the frequency of the babies bowels.
Side Effects
There is a less than 1% chance of vomiting after taking Colax particularly if the stomach is congested. To avoid this a small piece of ginger can be chewed immediately after drinking.
Senna which is an ingredient contained in Colax is not to be used in cases of intestinal obstructions and stenosis, atony, appendicitis, inflammatory colon diseases (e.g., Crohn’s Disease, ulcerative colitis); abdominal pain of unknown origin, severe dehydration state with water & electrolyte depletion.
